Brant was a kind, loving man who knew the importance of life and how fragile it is. At a young age he witnessed life changing things that taught him just how precious our lives are every day and never take a minute of it for granted. He watched as family members and friends suffered and battled cancer as well as heart conditions. Many of them lost their battle and some were in remission. It affected him so much, that he set out to do something about it! He wanted to find a cure for cancer and he started out by volunteering for Immerman Angels - a non profit organization in Chicago, IL where he lived. He ran races and gave his donations and time to support the cause. Then in 2012 he started his own non profit. 52for52. He was determined to run 52 races, for 52 weeks for 52 Cancer patients. He knew that the only way to Cure Cancer and Heart Conditions was to do Research and Screenings, but money and commitment was needed to make this happen.

Brant ran many 5K's, Half Marathons and Marathons to honor people with Cancer. Brant ran the Chicago Marathon several times, the Hawaii Marathon, Polar Dash, Hamtramck Paczki Run, Hot Chocolate Race and various other races to accomplish his goals. He would wear the name of the person he was honoring on an armband or write their names on his bib. He wanted everyone to know how ALL of the people he ran for were heroes. They were fighting for their lives everyday. He felt blessed to be able to run these races and donate the money in their honor. He loved doing these races and never let anything stop him.
Now it is our turn to honor Brant by continuing his non profit organization and his legacy. A legacy of honor for ALL the people in the world who are facing these life threatening illnesses. We want to let you know we are here for you. Praying, racing, screening, researching and planning events to help make sure that the future is FREE from Cancer and Heart Conditions.
If you know someone who is battling cancer, in remission or passed away let us know so we can put them on our prayer list or run a race or event in their honor.

Fighting for your life is a very hard thing to face everyday. Brant never wanted anyone to feel alone. He had this saying on his screensaver on his phone to remind himself everyday how hard it was for people to go through such a tough time. He wanted them to BE STRONG!!!! TO FIGHT and know there are people who love them out there that are working to find a cure and catch these conditions early enough to possibly not have to have Chemo, Pacemakers or even Heart Surgeries.
